Decided on quadrants for a 16 foot space.

Riffs on incorporating Worldwide Patterns and textiles

Used pattern recoloring for the headline to add depth and repetition.

Quadrant One. Debated the Plato quote, it is long but the last sentence is EVERYTHING. Has QR Code links to learn more about the designs from around the world.

Quadrant Two. Penrose Tiling is fascinating!

Quadrant Three. Condensed Lesson to demonstrate building shapes in perfect proportion.

Quadrant Four. Lesson continues with real world examples.

Reflections

This was the first attempt at a large format wall installation. The book Geometric Concepts in Islamic Art was a guiding star, and with all books on art or education, it was not written for money, but out of pure love of the topic of mesmerizing patterns.

Project completed for ROAR which churns out marketing materials for Old Dominion University and local clients overseen by Dr. Ted Gournelos. The project seemed at times unending, but Dr. Gournelos exhibited a monk-like level of patience with the progress, and I am deeply grateful for the support.
